Biogas Consulting SA specializes in providing a comprehensive consulting service to the biogas industry in South and Southern Africa. We undertake the full range of biogas related studies from initial scoping studies all the way through to complete bankable feasibility studies required by financiers. Our expertise covers the development of biogas projects for both the small scale rural/household, as well as large commercial scale projects. We also contract with government departments, municipalities, NGO’s and international institutions such GIZ, UNIDO, UNDP, etc. to compile reports, conduct studies and manage research projects.
Biogas Consulting SA also offers biogas training, from one day workshops on biogas basics, to multiple day training courses on full spectrum of biogas project development.
Biogas Consulting SA is run by Mark Tiepelt, previously director at BiogasSA, who has been involved in the biogas sector since 2008. Over the years Mark has made a significant contribution towards the development and promotion of the biogas industry in SA. Amongst others, Mark initiated the establishment of SABIA (Southern African Biogas Industry Association) in 2013 and served as its chairman until 2017. Mark was also instrumental in the creation and running of the National Biogas Platform and the main coordinator for the National Biogas Conferences which were held in 2013, 2015 and 2017.
Biogas Consulting has a close working relationship with Botala Energy Solutions (Pty) Ltd with whom it implements commercial scale biogas projects.
